How to Make a French Cheese Salad
Salade au fromage or Cheese salad recipe
(prep time 5 minutes, cook time 0 minutes)
Serves 2-4
Ingredients:
1/2 cup white or red grapes, halved and seeded
4 ounces Gruyere cheese, diced
4 tablespoons walnuts, roughly chopped
2 cups white cabbage, finely shredded
4 small tomatoes, quartered
1 cup of mayonnaise
1 cup of water cress
Directions:
Mix the first six ingredients together in a large bowl.
Garnish plates with watercress by making a bed.
The best wines for this dish are Chardonnay, Champagne, Merlot, Zinfandel, and Sauvignon Blanc.
The best beer would be a Bock style beer, or a German beer that was brewed in the fall. The French Cheese salad can be made very different ways, or easily customized to your tastes.
